The above quote is clearly an oversimplification, as are most arguments in favor of religion. The second phrase is clearly true. I don’t need to list the ways in which religious beliefs are dangerous to just about anyone that does not share their belief.

The entire article is just another attempt at the same tired old justification: because you cannot prove that God does not exist, it is better to believe, just in case.

Just in case there really is a heaven and hell. Just in case heaven does have 72 virgins waiting for you. Just in case St Peter is waiting at the Pearly Gates to check if you’ve been naughty or nice.

Just in case you are a man, and you want to justify all the ways that you can mistreat women and anyone else that looks or thinks differently than you.
