My wife is a Christie connoisseur, and I enjoy the ride. Totally agree that this latest Branagh effort is a big improvement. We've seen most of the Suchets' Poirot series more than once.
I can't judge Malkovich since he was under the spell of Sarah Phelps. Her goal as director is to use (and reuse) every trope and cliché she learned in film school.
